ePbt - Wapuro - THE REVIVAL

The ePbt Wapuro is a keyset inspired by the Japanese word processors developed in the 1980s, particularly those from Sharp. It celebrates the transition from typewriters to modern computer input systems, specifically focusing on the Wāpuro rōmaji method, which allows users to type Japanese characters using a QWERTY keyboard. The keyset features design elements reminiscent of 80s word processors, including specific logos and visual styles that reflect the technology of that era. It utilizes the JIS (Japanese Industrial Standards) for input standardization, similar to ANSI and ISO. The production choice for this keyset was made to enhance customization and affordability, opting for ePbt's capabilities over more expensive alternatives. The kit includes unique enter keys, one based on the original keyboard and another in katakana, catering to different user preferences.
