The zeit Plateless 65XT is a custom keyboard designed with a focus on aesthetics and functionality. It features a 65% layout with an XT column and a plateless design, which enhances its visual appeal on a desk. The kit includes an A6063 aluminum top and bottom case, a weight piece available in sandblasted brass or stainless steel, and a PCB compatible with QMK and VIA. The assembly kit comes with various components such as Tadpole switches, rubber standoffs, and all necessary hardware for assembly. The design process involved extensive learning and prototyping, resulting in a product that reflects a commitment to quality and user experience. Current imperfections in the design are being addressed, particularly around the integration of forcebreak methods to improve sound and build quality. The keyboard will be available in multiple colors, determined through community feedback.
